Join us for a conversation with Farah Millwala who will share her journey as a Pakistani Muslim woman navigating the intersections of identity, spirituality, and mindfulness. This session will explore how cultural and historical traditions—from Sufi poetry and Dhikr to the roots of meditation in Sufism—shape her personal practice and professional work as a Mindfulness Facilitator in clinical settings.
The talk will reflect on the role of mindfulness within Islamic spiritual practices, highlight the voices of female Pakistani Qawwals and Sufi poets, and examine the importance of representation and inclusion in wellness spaces. The event also features a nature-inspired mindfulness practice and poetry reading, centered on the symbolic wisdom of the Banyan Tree.
