A night of live music, photography and stories - where we will UNCOVER some of the most best-known cover songs of our times.
The Godown is thrilled to be hosting an exhibition of works that are close to our heart - iconic, coveted photographs of music legends of the 70’s that were shot by our good friend and award-winning photographer Gijsbert Hanekroot. And what better way to celebrate these works than to display these powerful images alongside a line-up of stellar singers and musicians as they perform, live, their own renditions of songs by the very same iconic stars that Gijsbert himself photographed.
The audience can expect interpretations of songs by the likes of David Bowie, Kate Bush, Leonard Cohen, John Lennon, Lou Reed and more, by a raft of great contemporary performers. In addition, to open the evening, the exhibiting photographer will give a talk where he will share his personal anecdotes and stories from when he encountered and photographed these music stars.
Doors open at 7pm and the event will start at 7.30pm.
