About this event

  • 4 hours

Join UMES Extension for a workshop of climate-smart agriculture and forestery practices. The event will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in the George Washington Carver Hall Auditorium on the University of Maryland Eastern Shore campus.

Scheduled from 8 a.m.-noon, this free event will focus on how climate-smart agriculture and forestery practices can enhance the resiliency of agri-food production systems. Producers can deliver climate-change solutions by implementing climate-smart agriculture and forestry mitigation activities on their operations.

In the U.S., agriculture accounted for 9.4% of total greenhouse gas emissions in 2022. The sector is also affected by climate change. An increase in food demand can further strain agri-food production systems.

Preregistration is required for this free event; breakfast and lunch will be provided. [See parking instructions below.]
