A posthumous celebration of  Umberto Evangelista's 100th birthday, featuring guest readers of his poetry, followed by the film UMBERTO E.

A posthumous, celebratory event for what would&#x27;ve been Umberto Evangelista&#x27;s 100th birthday, by featuring guest readers, reciting from a selection of his poetry in both Italian and translated into English, from the soon-to-be-published book UMBERTO 100, followed by a screening of award-winning filmmaker Anton Evangelista&#x27;s documentary on his father entitled UMBERTO E.Featured readers are:FRANK INGRASCIOTTA, JENNIFER SNOWDON, BILL RUSSO, GAETANO EVANGELISTA, ADRIANA ALOIA, VITTORIO CAPOTORTO.Poems co-translated by Italian school teacher MILDRED VALLETUTTI and Anton Evangelista.Copies of the book will be available soon. If you would like to be alerted when it becomes available for purchase, please send an email to moviesbyanton@gmail.com with UMBERTO 100 BOOK in the subject line.This event will be held Sunday, May 2nd, from 4-6pm. We will begin with an introduction from Mr. Evangelista on his father, then introducing the readers, three of whom will each read a selected poem in English, followed by three more who will read in Italian. For the Italian-read poems, a translated English text of the poem will appear next to the reader, to follow along. After registering for the event, a Zoom link will be sent to you before May 2nd. All proceeds to benefit ITALYTIME Theatre Company.
