UMass Vegetable Extension 2019 Winter Workshop SeriesSoil &amp; Nutrient Management Planning WorkshopDate and time: Tuesday, February 26, 2019, 10am-3pmLocation: Paige Laboratory, 161 Holdsworth Way, Amherst, MA 01003Description: Attendees of this workshop will:<ul><li>Learn about soil testing techniques and tour the UMass soil lab</li><li>Learn about soil health assessment methods from Brandon Smith, the NRCS National Soil Health Team Leader</li><li>Practice basic soil monitoring techniques you can implement on your farm, including pH and electrical conductivity testing</li><li>Learn to interpret soil test results</li><li>Leave the workshop with a nutrient management plan for next season for at least one field on your farm</li></ul>Limited to 25 attendees.Part 2 of this workshop - Soil Health, Cover Cropping, and Nutrient Management Planning - is being offered in Brattleboro, VT on January 30, hosted by University of Vermont Extension and the Vermont Vegetable and Berry Growers' Association.
