<H3>Join MCD on January 25th to celebrate <A HREF="http://www.mcdbooks.com/books/ultraluminous" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">ULTRALUMINOUS</A> by Katherine Faw.</H3>
In ULTRALUMINOUS, K, a girlfriend-experience prostitute, passes her days in New York City indulging in art shows, Red Bull cherry bomb cocktails, Duane Reade sushi, outrageous manicures, and obsessing over patterns and galaxies. At night she humors the vices and extravagances of a steady roster of male clients, gulping champagne, snorting cocaine, and eating food plated for Instagram. K is bored by her lifestyle, and wields and discards power at her whim, but K has a plan. ULTRALUMINOUS unfurls with Faw's signature frenetic pace, even as it approaches an inevitable, dazzling ending.

We're throwing a party for ULTRALUMINOUS as K would: with cherry bombs (that's Red Bull and vodka), galactic manicures by <A HREF="https://www.instagram.com/nailsbymei/?hl=en" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Nails by Mei</A>, readings by <A HREF="http://www.tarotsociety.us/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Tarot Society</A>/<A HREF="https://www.calleynelson.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Calley Nelson</A>, a film installation by FSG's art department, and a conversation moderated by editor Estelle Tang (Elle) about the subversive power of beauty with Katherine Faw, artist <A HREF="http://erica-prince.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Erica Prince</A>, Meredith Taulsan (them) and others.
Copies of ULTRALUMINOUS will be for sale. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the <A HREF="https://avp.org/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Anti-Violence Project</A>.
