Join Join City Of Kingston Parks for a cleanup at Kingston Point Beach from 9AM to 12PM for the 13th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep. This is a rain or shine event.

Volunteers will meet at the pavilion at Kingston Point Beach.

We recommend that all Sweep volunteers bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, insect repellent, work gloves, hand sanitizer, and sturdy boots. Rakes and wheelbarrows will be provided.

This site is suitable for elementary-aged children with adult supervision.

*IMPORTANT! To ensure the safety of volunteers, Sweep Site Leaders, professional staff, and our communities, we ask that volunteers adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Volunteers are required to pre-register for Sweep.
  • Volunteers should not participate if they have ANY signs of illness or if they have potentially been exposed to COVID-19.

Over the last 12 years, Sweep leaders have completed 1,199 service projects, bringing together thousands of volunteers from NYC to the Adirondacks to clean up 355 tons of debris, and plant or maintain 7,130 native plants. Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 4, and join us for the 13th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep, a day of service for the Hudson. With your help, we aim to reach new communities, engage new volunteers, and restore additional stretches of shoreline. Is there a location in your community in need of cleanup, removal of invasive plants, or another type of restoration project?

Last year we worked at 125 locations, and we can’t wait to do it again.

Here are ways to get involved:

  • Organize a project. Interested in leading a project at a park or shoreline in your community? Submit the Sweep Leader Interest Form and we’ll reach out with more information about next steps.
  • Suggest a location. Is there a park or shoreline in your community in need of a cleanup? If you know of any areas that are overrun with litter or invasive plants, let us know.
  • Volunteer. Interested in pitching in? Submit the Volunteer Interest Form to receive updates about volunteering, locations, and logistics.
  • Be a sponsor. Do you own a business interested in helping restore the Hudson River? Email me at kleung@riverkeeper.org for more information about sponsoring the 2024 Riverkeeper Sweep.
