The UK Tech Envoy to the US and British Consul General in San Francisco, <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/people/joe-white" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Joe White</a>, cordially invites you to a networking session with representatives from the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme and leaders from the UK Quantum Industry for Quantum West 2022 on January 26th during SPIE’s Photonics West Conference.This event, which will take place over a light breakfast from 7:30-8:50 am PST at Moscone Center West (800 Howard Street, Room #2004, Level 2), ahead of Quantum West Day presentations, will feature lightning talks highlighting UK capabilities in Quantum Technologies, strong links between UK Quantum Hubs and industry, and the UK Government’s investment in the field. Following presentations, attendees will have opportunity for discussions with UK experts.Event guests will stem from the Bay Area and UK investment, industry, and academic/national labs communities, as well as Photonics West attendees.Proof of Covid vaccination will be required to enter the building, and masks will be worn at all times, unless actively eating or drinking. NQTP’s thriving and unique interconnected ecosystem is comprised of world-leading research institutes, innovative quantum technology spin-outs, systems integrators and components suppliers from existing industries, as well as major multinationals, all interacting to generate real successes and drive the development of products and services.The UK National Quantum Computing Centre (<a href="https://www.nqcc.ac.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">NQCC</a>) established as part of phase 2 of the NQTP represents a £93m investment over 5 years to develop 4 key technology work streams: 100+ qubit NISQ demonstrator hardware platform(s); Quantum software, algorithm &amp; applications development; High performance, scalable qubit technology development; and Roadmap and architecture towards fault-tolerant general purpose quantum computing.ORCA Computing’s novel proprietary quantum memory technology allows room-temperature quantum computers to be built using optical fibre and industry-standard components for the first time, enabling robust, cost-effective, classical high performance computing- and data center-compatible quantum systems.
