UI with Unity VR

The NYU MakerSpace is a cutting edge lab aiming to foster projects at the intersection of technology, creativity and innovation. It features rapid prototyping and PCB production equipment, as well as advanced machining and testing capabilities. The MakerSpace hosts the Design Lab which provides NYU students with opportunities to ideate, experiment, prototype, and build their ideas.

"Putting the You and I into UI with Unity VR"
The talk will focus on the foundation of developing UI for VR including some of the variables that need adjusting.
In this workshop, we will cover:

Good practices for organizing files in Unity

Differences of implementing UI in VR versus digital games 
</LI>
<LI>
Building to suit the required differences between platforms (Oculus versus Google VR)
</LI>

The Killer Snails team has published mobile games and virtual reality games for both Oculus and Google VR with partners including the New York Hall of Science, the American Museum of Natural History and Google Expeditions. 
About the Speakers: 
Christopher Pollati, Lead Developer, Killer Snails: Christopher Pollati is a game programmer with a long history of game and web development. He has worked on several different types of games ranging from casual web games, AAA console first-person shooters, to mobile puzzle game. Along with game development, he has also worked for one of the world's largest educational publisher developing tools, games and application for higher education. Pollati also teaches classes in game programming and development at Bloomfield College in New Jersey. If he had any spare time, he would probably still program games just for fun.
Carlos DaLomba, Developer, Killer Snails: Carlos DaLomba has become master of all trades in game development as a certified Unity developer. He started programming in 8th grade to play around with the source code that made up his favorite video game. Since then, Carlos’ passion for creating fantasy medieval games has driven him to become an expert in using the most widely used game engine across the globe, which includes game programming, 3D modeling rigged characters, and composing ambient music. Carlos has created games for a variety of platforms and is also a certified Unity Asset Store publisher.
