Established in 1976, the University Economic Development Association (UEDA) is the cornerstone membership organization representing higher education, private sector and community economic development stakeholders. The association works to expand economic opportunity in our communities by leveraging research, community resources, campus planning, talent development, and technology commercialization. UEDA serves its members by promoting knowledge and practice in the realms of talent, innovation, and place as drivers of regional prosperity.

<P>Resilience is emerging as a concept and a practice to help individuals, communities, cities, and regions not only withstand chronic and acute shocks but to emerge from them stronger and in a better place. The idea of resilience is often deeply ingrained in individuals and their families and in immediate communities. The 2019 UEDA Summit will explore the topic and highlight manageable, scalable and impactful programs and projects that can be implemented by regions across the globe. Often the biggest little idea can grow to make a catalytic shift.<BR><BR></P>

<H2>Why Reno?</H2>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">When the largest alpine lake collides with the Biggest Little City in the World, an incredible energy fills the air. It flows through the streets, slopes and swimming holes. It’s in the downtown clubs and the start-up distilleries.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">Reno-Tahoe is the perfect cross between alpine and urban no matter if you spend your day venturing down gorgeous trails or downtown to do some shopping. Reno has an eclectic selection of restaurants, from classic Indian cuisine to staple American bar foods.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">The Reno area offers its 450,000 citizens some of the world’s finest activities, such as the Nevada Museum of Art, the Truckee River Whitewater Park, the National Automobile Museum, an array of beautiful golf courses and much more. You will see parks and greenspaces brimming with art from the festivals over the years. All of this culture lends itself to Reno being a vibrant and youthful place to visit and enjoy. The city strikes the perfect balance between growth and history, always moving forward but paying tribute to the past.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">One such tribute is the oldest college in the state—the University of Nevada, Reno. Founded in 1874, the University is a Morrill Act Land Grant institution. Part of the Nevada System of Higher Education, the University serves nearly 22,000 students and is classified as an R1 institution with very high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. More than $800 million has been invested campus-wide in advanced laboratories, residence halls and facilities since 2009, representing significant economic impact and the creation of hundreds of construction jobs.</P>

<P><I>All registration cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing by September 1, 2019. A refund of the conference fee, minus a $75 administrative fee, will be given for cancellations received by this date.
