Join us for the Opening of Memory Patterns, a mixed-media exhibition by Ukrainian artist Anna Seniuk, on Wednesday, October 15th from 5–6:30pm at Teatro LATEA.
Blending traditional papercutting (vytynanka) with photography, Memory Patterns explores how memory alters, fragments, and reshapes our perception of the past. Papercuts slice through photographs, leaving ruptures and absences—visual traces of how memories remain yet shift over time.
By merging a folk technique rooted in symbolism with contemporary visual language, Seniuk destabilizes expectations of heritage and form. The result is a body of work that speaks to the fragility of remembering—both personal and collective.
The opening reception includes remarks followed by the curated talk with the artist facilitated by Anastasia Gudko. Drinks and light bites from Veselka, a local Ukrainian restaurant will be served. Guests are invited to reflect, connect, and engage directly with the artist’s process and vision.
This ticket is for the Opening Reception on Wednesday, October 15th. The reception will take place prior to that evening’s performance of Lesia Ukrainka’s Cassandra at 7:00pm (requires a separate ticket).
The Memory Patterns exhibition will be on view daily from 3:00–6:00pm, October 14–18, and is free and open to the public.
