What’s Type Jam?

Have you ever wanted to create your very own font, but didn’t know where to start?

Have you ever wished you had more time to explore new ways to approach type design?

Have you ever wanted to be around a bunch of people wanting to do those things too, but feel too intimidated?
Type Jam might just be for you!
Type Jam is a fun event for people of all skill levels. We’re hoping to bring together two communities: those who make typography (e.g. letterers, type designers, font engineers), and those who use typography (e.g. graphic designers, product designers, etc.).
Type Jam is an opportunity for both novices and experts to experience and explore different disciplines and methods for creating beautiful type in a very constrained time period.
All proceeds will be donated to San Francisco Center for the Book.
Where/When

Type Jam will be hosted at the Tradecraft office in downtown SF, 150 Minna St, San Francisco, CA 94105

It will kick off at 10am on Saturday 9/23, and run until the evening on Sunday 9/24. The building will be closed overnight, but participants can continue working off-site until the building reopens on Sunday morning.
