Machine Learning for IoT Devices Using Python (1st Offering) Presenter: Atefeh GilvariDate: Tuesday, August 6th , 2024Time: 9:00amLocation: 4th Floor at 300 Ouellette Avenue (School of Computer Science Advanced Computing Hub) Abstract:In this workshop, we will explore the critical role of machine learning (ML) methods within the Internet of Things (IoT) frameworks. As IoT devices generate vast amounts of data, it becomes essential to analyze and extract meaningful information from this data to make informed decisions and predictions. This workshop aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to applying machine learning techniques to IoT data using Python. Participants will learn how to preprocess raw data, build and evaluate machine learning models, and gain insights from the analyzed data. Through practical examples and hands-on exercises, attendees will develop the skills necessary to leverage ML models for IoT applications, enhancing their ability to work with real-world IoT data. Workshop Outline:Understand the importance of machine learning in IoT frameworksBe able to preprocess and clean IoT data for analysisGain proficiency in building and evaluating ML models using PythonLearn to apply ML techniques to real-world IoT scenariosDevelop skills to analyze and interpret IoT data for informed decision-making Prerequisites:This workshop is designed for beginners and does not require any prior knowledge or prerequisites. Biography:Second-year PhD student specializing in IoT platforms.
