Positive Youth Development is an approach that can guide communities in the ways in which they provide services, supports and opportunities so that young people can thrive and develop to their full potential. This hands-on, two-day training will support CIN members to continue to understand Positive Youth Development, using YDI’s framework of Connectedness, Preparation and Authentic Participation as a lens through which to strengthen practices and identify new strategies in your work with young people.

We will explore how to support growing positive, healthy relationships with and between youth to shift program practice. Participants will share experiences and promising practices that will be used to understand how to develop and prepare youth for the right-fit opportunities to succeed in CIN programs. This will then allow us to explore and identify strategies to scaffold learning and experiences to understand and support youth leadership.

Participants will be asked to come prepared to problem solve with a challenge relating to authentic youth participation and return to their organizations with an action plan. (More details will be provided upon registration.)
