What should we bring to the workshop?

Accepted Answer

All materials are included in the fee, but if you'd like to prepare before the workshop, please bring a two-color 4"x6" rough sketch or image you'd like to work with. Also bring a lunch, apron or clothes you don't mind getting oil-based ink on, and carving tools you may already have.

Which entrance of the Tacoma Armory leads to Suite 15?

Accepted Answer

Please enter the building through the side entrance facing South 11th Street. There'll be a greeter to let you in between 9:45-10 am—the doors lock when closed.

What parking is available?

Accepted Answer

There's free street parking around the Tacoma Armory and also a $5 all day lot close by.

Question 4

What precautions should we know about the process?

Accepted Answer

We'll use sharp carving tools and oil-based ink can get messy. Please be aware of non-toxic chemical sensitivities with ink, corn starch, Simple Green, and vegetable oil for cleaning. Bring a mask. For those with carpal tunnel, arthritis or other hand-mobility conditions, carving may be challenging.

Is there a waitlist when the workshop is full?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if the workshop is full, there'll be an option to be on the waitlist. Sometimes there are cancellations weeks before or week of the workshop.

Question 6

What is the cancellation refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Refunds up to 5 days before the workshop, Eventbrite's fee is nonrefundable. There may be folks on the waitlist who want your spot!

Question 7

What's included in the $100 enrollment fee?

Accepted Answer

7 hours of workshop and art materials. Sales tax and the Eventbrite fee will be added to the $100.
