<p>The Oklahoma State Department of Education is excited to announce free professional development workshops for the 2019-2020 school year. These workshops are being offered in different regions of the state and are designed to support educators with effective instructional strategies aligned to the Oklahoma Academic Standards. These workshops are perfect for educators looking to identify a new Professional Learning (PL) Focus or deepen expertise in an existing PL Focus. For more information on PL Focus go to https://sde.ok.gov/professional-learning-focus. </p><h2>Schedule</h2><ul><li>Morning Session: 8:30-11:30 a.m.</li><li>Lunch Break: 11:30-12:30 p.m.</li><li>Afternoon Session: 12:30- 3:30 p.m.</li><li>Session will be held at <strong>Union High School- Grand Hall A/B</strong></li></ul><h2>Device</h2><ul><li>Please bring a large, charged, device-- preferably a laptop or tablet.</li></ul><h2>6th - 12th Grade Mathematics</h2><h3>Encouraging Student Engagement and Understanding in the Math Classroom</h3><ul><li>In this workshop, educators will learn strategies for engaging students in mathematical discussions and productive struggle. </li><li>Led by Director of Secondary Mathematics, Christine Koerner.</li></ul><p></p>
