About this event

Tuesday Blues is an all-ages, weekly social partner dance event in Portland established in 2003, and is open to people of all dance backgrounds and experience. It offers both beginner and intermediate lessons before each of our weekly dances. We strive to have an inclusive environment at all our dances, where we can grow dancers into community members. Every Tuesday night we bring you the best Blues dancing, DJs, and live music Portland has to offer.

There's no partner required, no experience required—just a love for the blues and a desire to move!

Tuesday Blues is a POC & LGBTQIA safe(r) event. This means bigotry of any kind is not tolerated. If you experience or see anything questionable, please let someone on the PB&J team know. Thanks for helping keep Blues a safe and welcoming space for all!

Frequently asked questions

What is your COVID Policy?

Right now, our events on odd weeks (1st, 3rd, and 5th) are mask required. Masks must be either n95 or Kn95. On even weeks (2nd and 4th) masks are optional but encouraged and provided. Attendees are no longer required to provide proof of vaccination. Vaccination is still strongly encouraged.

Do I need to bring my own partner to dance?

No partner is required! It is a normal part of the dance culture to dance with many different partners through the evening. Both single persons and couples are more than welcome at both our lessons and events.

Do I need to know how to dance?

Not at all! Each of our weekly events includes both beginner and intermediate lessons. All skill levels from all styles of dance are welcome.

What if I'm experiencing financial issues?

We have a NOTA (no one turned away) for lack of funds policy. You can ask at the door when checking in, or get a sliding scale ticket ($0-$15) If you find this to be an ongoing need, we ask that you consider looking into volunteer opportunities. We are always looking for new volunteers!
