About this event

Non-Linear Movement is a gentle yet powerful somatic movement practice that feels like a moving meditation. You close your eyes and let the sensations of the body and the music guide you into a moving meditation-like dance that happens entirely on the ground.

This is movement for your soul and overall wellbeing.

🌟What Happens at a Non-Linear Movement Method Class?🌟

Similar to a moving meditation, you will move on or near the ground either kneeling, on your back, or hands and knees; you will not be standing at any point. You will also move with your eyes closed.

This is an organic, unstructured, practice where you allow the music and sensations of your body guide you into movement, giving you the opportunity to internally explore and connect back to your sensations, emotions, thoughts and overall wisdom of your body.

🌟Why Practice the Non-Linear Movement Method?🌟

❣️This practice gives you a moment to pause, re-charge and re-connect back to yourself.

❣️This is a simple movement practice that doesn’t ask a lot of you.

❣️ Music and movement aide in moving stuck emotions through and out of your body.

❣️Shift from numbness and disconnect back to awareness of sensation throughout your body.

❣️Empty out and release all that you have been holding on to.

❣️Experience the truth that there is more to be felt, sensed and experienced when you look and feel internally

Frequently asked questions

What Do I Need for Class?

The most important thing is - YOU! Committing to showing up each week is a self-care practice that will reap beautiful rewards. Please wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move in. A clean yoga mat will be provided.

Where Do I Park? What's the Studio Like?

This is a small, intimate studio so we will have only 5 students, max. Be aware that you will be in an inclosed room, moving close to others. Bldg. is next to South Pasadena Post Office. Park in lot behind the building in the furthest row back, closest to the alley. Enter through black gate.

If I'm Late to Class, What Should I Do?

Please arrive at least 5-10mins before class begins so that you can use the restroom and change clothes if needed. There is a small bathroom outside of the studio. If you are few minutes late, quietly enter the room and find an open mat. I will not allow entry if you are more than 10mins late.

Anything Else I Should Be Aware Of?

Remove your shoes before entering the studio. Be aware that this is a ground-based movement practice so you will be on or near the floor the entire time AND you practice w/eyes closed. This is a tiny studio - prepare to be cozy!

Are There Refunds?

Refunds are only if the class is canceled or rescheduled. Please email Leslie at least 24 hours in advance if unable to attend, and you will have credit for a future NLMM class. Email: Leslie@sickandseeking.com
