Workshop Overview:

  • In this entry-level course, participants experience writing code in both Back End and Front End programming languages to gain a full picture of our program offerings.
  • Participants join class Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 3pm MST.
  • Most of our day is spent learning foundational coding concepts with an instructor.

One hour of each day is spent dedicated to providing you with detailed information about Turing School, through an Info Session and an Alumni Panel. Do you have questions about learning how to code, Turing School, or the life of a software developer? Get them answered here!

What Will We Learn?

In this workshop, a Turing School instructor will guide you through a structured curriculum to write your own code and work collaboratively with other participants. You will leave with a basic understanding of the differences between Back End and Front End development, as well as your own code project to share with friends and family. If you’re interested in joining a community of motivated and supportive people in transitioning to a fulfilling career in tech, this event is for you.

Back End Development

Learn more about how the internet works and write code using a Back End programming language – Ruby! We will finish the class by building our own console application that responds to user input.

Front End Development

In the second day of this two-day workshop, we will build on our foundational knowledge of programming to create, style, and add interactivity to web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
