Trust Me, I’m an Algorithm?
AI, Disinformation, and Higher Education | From Evidence to Action — A WISE Study with HBKU and NU-Q
As AI-generated content floods the digital information landscape, higher education faces a defining challenge: how can institutions embrace AI's potential while building information resilience that societies urgently need? Verification processes are struggling to keep pace, and the consequences are real - an uninformed public is a vulnerable one.
This policy dialogue, grounded in the WISE research report, Fortifying Education in the Age of Disinformation: A Strategic Framework for AI in Higher Education in Qatar, brings together lead researchers from WISE, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), and Northwestern University in Qatar O(NU-Q) to move from evidence to policy to action. Through a panel discussion and an interactive experience, the event explores what responsible AI integration in higher education could look like and what it will take to build lasting information resilience.
