Triptides at Substation Seattle
Substation presents:
Triptides - After a few years of cosmic keyboard pop, Triptides decided that it was time to get back to their 1960s roots on Past Lives. Their idea was to create an album that featured a 12-string guitar (either electric or acoustic) on every track, much like their heroes the Byrds did on their first records (the lead off track is an honest cover of the Byrd’s 1965 tune “She Don’t Care About Time”).
Of course, most of these songs deal with love - but through a kaleidoscopic pop lens that offers a new sonic interpretation of that singular human connection. Some songs deal with the darkness that comes before the dawn, other songs explore the fleeting moments of perfection that we’re all trying to hold on to.
At its core, holding on to those moments is what Past Lives is all about. It’s about being here right now and letting life happen. Living with the love we share, the things we lose, and the days that keep on dawning no matter which side you’re on. You may even get the feeling you lived some of this before.
You’re beginning to experience Past Lives.
