Speaker Bio: Kayode “Kay” Ajayi-Smith, MBA, is an award-winning social entrepreneur, management consultant, and business strategist with more than 15 years of experience spanning the United States and West Africa. He is the Founder and CEO of Smithswork Consulting, where he advises businesses and emerging ventures on strategy, business development, growth, and risk management.

Over his career, Kay has worked across the private, nonprofit, and international development sectors, including consulting engagements with organizations such as Oxford Policy Management and the Centre for Financial Regulation and Inclusion. He previously founded and led the Joint Initiative for Development, through which programs and partnerships reached thousands of young people and small businesses.

Kay holds an MBA from Lehigh University, where he received the premeir Asa Packer Social Entrepreneurship Award, and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with Economics. His current interests sit at the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic opportunity, with a particular focus on how emerging technologies and stronger entrepreneurial ecosystems can help businesses and communities thrive.
