About this event

Light up the night on the Glow Roll! Join us on the last Friday of every month for a family-friendly 10-mile cruise through downtown Chapel Hill. After the ride, enjoy a frosty beverage with new friends at The Casual Pint.

Glow sticks are provided, helmets are required, hydration is recommended, and lots of lights and bright colors are HIGHLY encouraged!

Frequently asked questions

What about foul weather?

The last thing we want to do is cancel a ride, but alas sometimes mother nature has other plans. At Trek we operate our rides and events with a "Green means GO, red means STOP" policy, meaning that unless the rare instance of RED (aka extreme) weather is on the radar, we RIDE!

Can I bring my ebike?

YOU BET! We love ebikes at Trek and welcome them on every ride they are already allowed on. Not sure if the route is hip to your ebike? Just give us a shout or stop by and we'll make sure you are ready to ride.

What's the route? How fast do you go?

We'll ride primarily on off-road greenways, and separated bike lanes as we roll through, Carrboro, downtown Chapel Hill, and UNC’s campus. Pace is 9-10mph so that the ride is roughly 1 hour.

Can my child(ren) join?

Please! There is one hill that is not typically the highlight of the ride for our youngest riders, however, so we recommend riders be at least 10 years old, with gears on their bike. Younger riders are welcome in child seats or pull-behind trailers. Front-mounted child seats are not permitted.
