This unforgettable evening will commence with gin cocktails provided by <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.elixirdfw.com/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Elixir Craft Cocktail Catering</A> and craft beer from <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://lakewoodbrewing.com/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Lakewood Brewing Company</A>. Local jazz pianist <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.openclassical.org/artists/Thiago-Nascimento" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Thiago Nascimento</A> will entertain the crowd while <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.lushusa.com/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">LUSH Cosmetics</A> Charity Stars pamper each guest. Silent auction items will be on display. At 7:30pm, dinner will begin, and will be served in 7 courses, each prepared by a different chef. Every dish will highlight ingredients that come from trees. Disasters make people realize the true value of trees because, once they are gone, trees are not easily replaced. TREE FEAST, a meal that celebrates the many foods we receive from trees, will parallel that perspective. <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Whole Foods Market</A>, <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.freshpoint.com/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">FreshPoint</A>, and <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://spicemadam.com/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Spice Madam</A> will provide ingredients. A truly unique meal, TREE FEAST should not be missed.
Founded in January 2012 and based in Dallas, <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.retreet.org" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">RETREET</A> provides disaster relief to affected communities by leading volunteers in replanting trees one home at a time. To date, RETREET and its partners have planted 4,096 trees at homes all across North America, bringing joy, hope, and cheer to those in need. We offer a unique solution to an urgent problem, thereby redefining the concept of disaster relief. There is no other agency focused on this issue.
The EF4 tornado that struck Rowlett, TX, on December 26, 2015, left a massive path of destruction. Not only were great swaths of housing and infrastructure wiped off the map, so too were many of the city’s trees.  A barren landscape remains, depriving the community of its environmental identity and serving as a constant reminder of the disaster and the long road to recovery. Replanting the lost trees is a vital part of the recovery process. RETREET is working with partners <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.texastrees.org/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Texas Trees Foundation</A> and <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.keeprowlettbeautiful.org/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Keep Rowlett Beautiful</A> to do just that.
