About this event

  • 7 hours

In this one-day conference, midwives and women’s health care professionals will explore topics that are significantly impacting women’s health and birth in our culture today, including an eroding trust of the health care system, and a rise in patient dissatisfaction with birth and experiences of birth trauma. We will use research as well as popular culture and anecdotal experiences to increase our knowledge about the state of birth as well as how we can improve birth experiences and the experience of caring for birthing people. The day will include presentations and learning through storytelling, reflective practices and sharing. There will be time for introspection with art and writing and a pace that is nurturing to the spirit. Participants will leave with fresh perspectives and ready to take action in their own practice or setting to improve birth and women’s health care in our culture.

There will be 6 CEUs pending from ACNM.

The Conference will be held at Open Door, an Integrated Health Care Clinic in White River Junction, Vermont. The location is easily accessible from both I89 and I91 on the VT/NH border.

There is ample free parking in the area. Coffee, snacks and lunch will be provided
