About this event

  • 2 hours

In this workshop together we will explore how trauma manifests in the mind, body, and spirit, and understand how the powerful practice of yoga can support those who are survivors of trauma. This space is open not only for yoga teachers and practitioners, but also those who work with or care for others who have experienced trauma. Being trauma informed means offering choices! Feel free to come as you are and learn more about ways to foster a trauma informed space while understanding how to better heal yourself.

Gabby Ruocco (she/her/hers) has been an educator and has been involved in community development in different countries and settings for diverse populations for the past decade. In May of 2022, she became a 200 hour registered yoga teacher after completing an immersive training in The Sacred Valley of Peru. Since her 200 hour YTT, she has completed additional training that focused on trauma informed yoga for those struggling with mental health and addiction, as well as enhancing her teaching skills in Spanish and teaching to children. She has taught yoga in community centers, domestic violence shelters, after school programs, as well as individualized classes to private students. She is currently pursuing her masters in Social work, allowing her to better understand how trauma manifests in the physical body and mind and enhance her understanding of how to foster safe and healing spaces.

Through the practice of Hatha, Vinyasa, and Kundalini Yoga (asana, pranayama), we introduce ways to find a balance and purify the body and mind to move to a state of higher awareness.

Ayurveda, an ancient holistic approach to life, is a way to be healthy and happy. Our goal is to help people understand their own bodies and what they need. In a healthy body, a healthy soul lives.

We also foster art, creativity, music, and dance. As well as offering Retreats- local and international, trips to parks, hiking, aerial yoga and much more. We embrace each other.
