Trauma-informed theory and practice
Many people using homelessness services have experienced complex trauma. Understanding trauma can ensure that you can adapt your approach and provide the right support
This course is suitable for support workers and managers, and is an essential step towards becoming a trauma-informed champion, ready to transform your service.
The session includes:
- What is complex trauma
- How complex trauma impacts people's physiology, emotions and behaviour
- How services can avoid re-traumatising people and support their recovery
- The importance of staff wellbeing in a trauma-informed service
Lunch & Refreshments will be provided, if you have any dietary requirements please let us know at least 2 weeks prior to the training date.
The car park at the Dudson Centre is at the front of the building and pay & display.
Unfortunately, we are only able to provide these training opportunities free to people who live or work in the Stoke-on Trent Area.
