Trauma Informed Spiritual Practice is an opportunity for participants to re-examine what it means to gather in shared spaces, (classrooms, airports, family settings, and spaces dedicated to religious observance) in a way that facilitates safety, well-being, and honors diverse social needs.

Rev. Jesse Eugene Herriott is the Spiritual Leader of Unity of Birmingham; a progressive, inclusive, spiritual community located in Birmingham Alabama. His current research and teaching explores the interplay of Western Psychotherapy and Trauma Informed Spiritual Practices. He received a B.A. from the University of South Carolina, completed a Masters degree in the Criminal Justice from Keiser University, post graduate certification in Geropsychology and post grad training in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Grand Canyon University, and seminary education from UWSI in Kansas City, MO. He received a Certificate in Jungian Psychotherapy from the Zur Institute, as well as additional training in Clinical Trauma Support with the Arizona Trauma Institute. In the Spring of 2015 he was inducted into Morehouse College’s Martin Luther King Jr. Collegium of Clergy & Scholars.
