Transportation is the backbone of the region’s economy, and is essential to the quality of life for all residents. The tri-state region can support sustainable and equitable economic growth for future generations by transforming its commuter rail network. Strategic investments can combine the region’s rail lines, Long Island Railroad, Metro-North, and NJ Transit, into a unified system called Trans-Regional Express (T-REX) that would vastly improve commuter mobility. T-REX would address immediate priorities, such as relieving congestion at Penn Station, while incrementally expanding the network; ultimately creating a modern regional rail system that could serve the tri-state area for a century or more. 
Please join us for a presentation on the T-REX system featuring Tom Wright, President & CEO of <A HREF="http://www.rpa.org/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Regional Plan Association (RPA)</A>, with a conversation moderated by Sarah M. Kaufman, Associate Director of the NYU Rudin Center for Transportation.
This program is part of <A HREF="https://ohny.org/posts/the-moving-city" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Moving City: Transportation Infrastructures of New York</A>, a year-long series of tours, conversations and debates about the future of transportation and mobility in New York City. Major support has been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and matching gifts from our 2019 Spring Benefit donation challenge supporters.

TICKETS Registration is required as space is limited. Admission is free for Members, Volunteers, and Students. General admission is $10. 
Tickets are non-refundable. Should you not be able to attend, the full price of unused tickets may be treated as a donation to Open House New York and is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
