About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Learn organic habitat gardening practices that support insects, birds, and others in ways that traditional horticulture practices do not. Daphne will lead activities to help you:

  • Assess how well your own property provides food, water, cover and nesting resources for wildlife
  • Identify common invasive plants to remove
  • How to select NH native plants for your property that will bolster insect and bird habitat

About the Teacher
As the owner of Growing Garden Habitats, Daphne works with clients to build ecologically sound gardens. Using organic practices, New England native plants, and knowledge of native insect life-cycles, she helps people build havens for biodiversity in their own yards. She shares her passion and knowledge in lectures, classes, and individual consultation throughout the region. She has developed adult and children’s botanical education programs for Native Plant Trust, Trustees of Reservations, Tower Hill Botanic Garden, The Arnold Arboretum, and Penn State’s Shaver’s Creek. She holds a certificate in field botany from the Native Plant Trust, a doctorate in Human Development from Penn State, and is a NOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professional.
