<h3>Converting your Intro Stat course computing to R</h3><p><em>Ernest Fokoue, RIT;  9 - 10:15am EST</em></p><p>If you’re teaching with calculator, Excel, Minitab, StatCrunch or other software package (or no computing at all), and want to consider converting to R, this session will cover options, recommendations, methods, and materials.</p><p></p><h3>Teaching introductory statistics with randomization and bootstrapping</h3><p><em>Bruce Blaine, St. John Fisher College;  10:15 - 11:30am EST</em></p><p>This session will cover some of the principles of randomization and bootstrapping methods, and their appeal for teaching statistical inference and estimation to the intro level student. Taught in R.</p><p></p><h3>Data visualization for the Intro Stat student</h3><p><em>Katherine Grzesik, University of Rochester;  11:30am - 12:45pm EST</em></p><p>Learn how data visualization content and modules can enliven your intro stat course and pull students into the excitement of learning from data. Taught in R and introducing plotting environments and packages in R.</p><h1>---------------------------------</h1><h3>Mentoring Session - Applying this to YOUR Course</h3><p><em>Small group sessions;  1 - 1:30pm EST</em></p><p>All attendees will be paired with a mentor who will support you as you continue your particular learning or curricular development goals. Mentees will virtually meet their mentor in this last session of the day!</p><p>Mentees will be invited to present in a special 2-year college faculty learning community session at UPSTAT 2021 held in April!</p><p></p><p></p>
