TRANSforming Feminism: Building A More Inclusive Movement
Event Information
About this event
During the course of this program, we will explore the lack of inclusion in second and third wave feminist movements and revisit the argument that all women, both cisgender and transgender, are included in order to achieve complete gender equality.
Dr. JV Fuqua, Director of the Queens College Women and Gender Studies Program will moderate the panel. Panelists include CUNY faculty, CUNY students, and feature trans feminist author, Julia Serano, and also feature Tracee McDaniel, the first trans person to be appointed to the Atlanta Citizen Review Board.
This event is made possible through the generous support of LaGuardia Community College/CUNY and the New York City Council through the offices of Daniel Dromm (District 25) and Speaker Corey Johnson.
Co-sponsors: The Queens College Office of Student Development and Leadership, the Women and Gender Studies Program at Queens College, the CUNY Office of Student Inclusion Initiatives, and Queens College Gender, Love and Sexuality Alliance/GLASA.
This event will be recorded and archived at the CUNY LaGuardia and Wagner Archives.
