About this event

This 3-hour workshop will provide case managers and street outreach workers with the essential tools and strategies to implement trauma-informed care when collaborating with hospitals, victim advocacy organizations, coroners' offices, and funeral homes. Designed with a focus on practical application, this training will help attendees better navigate the challenges they may face while supporting individuals and families who have experienced trauma, loss, and violence. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of trauma's effects, as well as how to integrate trauma-informed principles into sensitive interactions with healthcare, victim services, and death-related institutions.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to: Understand the core principles of trauma-informed care and why they are critical in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, particularly in healthcare, victim services, and death-related contexts. Identify the key aspects of trauma-informed care that are relevant when working with hospitals, victim advocates, coroners, and funeral homes. Build skills for effectively supporting clients through grief, trauma, and crisis situations in these sensitive environments. Develop strategies for collaborating with professionals from various systems, including healthcare providers, victim advocates, and funeral services, ensuring the client's needs are met while prioritizing their emotional and psychological well-being.
