Transformational Inquiry is a postmodern informed psychotherapy paradigm that distinguishes between the technical job of therapy and the deeper calling to facilitate authentic healing. Participants will learn a framework for evaluating therapeutic models while exploring the philosophical foundations that underpin this connection-based approach. Through interactive exploration, attendees will examine the essential characteristics of genuine therapeutic connection and discover practical strategies for re-centering therapy in the present moment. This session offers both seasoned practitioners and emerging therapists a fresh framework for understanding therapeutic value, moving beyond technique to embrace the profound calling of therapeutic work. Presenter’s Bio:
Dr. Paul Maione brings over 30 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Since 2003, he has served as faculty at Capella University in the Marriage & Family Therapy specialty, where he contributes to the training of emerging therapists. Dr. Maione's clinical approach emphasizes connection-based practices that allow for healing to emerge as an outgrowth of the therapeutic process.
Dr. Maione earned his Master's degree from Hofstra University and his Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. As a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor for the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy (AAMFT), Dr. Maione is committed to advancing the field through both clinical practice and supervision. He serves as Clinical Director of Couples on The Brink, where he continues to develop innovative approaches to relationship therapy. Dr. Maione's extensive experience in both clinical practice and academic settings uniquely positions him to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application.
