Frequently asked questions
Courage to Change Level 1 will be held from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm on Monday, April 29, 2024, AND Monday, May 6, 2024.
We understand it's a lot, but to continue to receive grant funding from DVS, we have to collect a lot of data about our participants and what they think and have learned from attending. Pre- and post-assessments will be completed once the training course begins.
The training itself is free! However, because we are purely funded by Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) grants, we ask participants to pay $25.00 for their workbook/manual.
Yes! Our training classes are hybrid. Meaning, that we prefer to have trainees in person due to the content, but understand that our trainees live all over Virginia and even outside of Virginia. Thus, we do give the option of attending virtually.
There is ample parking, and it is free. The VEC is located in the City Center of Newport News, across from Jose Tequilas.
