Event description

Description

Skoda Minotti’s Train-the-Trainer is a two-day program which helps subject matter experts and trainers use adult learning principles, instructional design techniques and facilitation skills to create training that will have a high impact on their audience and produce better, faster results. Through our training, we place an emphasis on helping each participant discover their personal training style using a tool called The Birkman Method®.

We believe anyone can be a great trainer; the secret is developing your own personal training style. To do that, you need to understand how your natural strengths can help you engage your audience. You also need awareness of adult learning principles, instructional design techniques and facilitation skills. From there, you can determine what techniques or skills work best for you, and how you can use your own natural strengths to engage your audience and make learning stick.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore principles and styles of learning
  • Examine how to design training materials
  • Discover how to engage others through facilitation techniques
  • Discuss how to manage a classroom
  • Identify effective presentation behaviors

Why Should You Attend?

  • All participants will receive their Birkman Signature Report. This innovative tool will help you discover your own unique training style, as well as provide helpful information about who may be in your audience.
  • Most trainers are so busy training that little time is left to freshen up existing curriculum or design new training. During our course, we build in time for you to enhance your existing training, practice your delivery and receive useful feedback in partnership with our instructional designers and fellow participants.
  • Content experts will boost their credibility by discovering their own training style and infusing adult learning principles, instructional design best practices and effective facilitation skills into their training. Participants will also learn how to manage a classroom.
  • Experienced trainers will build on their existing training foundation by discovering new approaches to instructional design and facilitation skills as well as their own unique training style.
  • Participants will receive a certification of completion for a total of 16.4 hours of continuing education training by participating in the two-day training.

Who are our trainers?

Our team includes an athlete, a fashionista and a world-traveler. What do these people have in common? From those descriptions, you might expect minimal synergies; yet all three are effective trainers. During our session, you will experience their three different training styles and learn how each successfully engages their audience.
