Please join us as we explore the woodland trail to observe both the flora and fauna of the woodlands surrounding Salt Creek.


Challenge Level: Easy to moderate at a steady pace.


Parking/Meeting Location: Park at Bemis Woods North by the bridge over Salt Creek. Meet by the trail map sign.


Meet your volunteer guide: As a lifetime resident of Cook County, Martha has explored the forest preserves since she was a young child. She has done quite a bit of horseback riding through the Palos area exploring the trails, flora, and fauna. She studied natural history including geology, ecology, general earth science, and Native American Nations as well as general history in college.


What to bring/wear: A sturdy pair of shoes or boots, water, sunscreen, and a hat.
