I absolutely LOVE this technique, which I discovered through the work of Paul Klee. Also referred to as Trace Monotype or Pressure Monoprint, it’s known for the rough, irregular linework and textures it produces. It’s very adaptable and combines well with other media. This workshop will be presented in two sessions so we will have plenty of time with no need to rush. In the first session, you’ll make the actual monoprint. We'll let the ink dry so it will be ready to paint when you come back. In the second session, you will add color to your print with watercolors and other materials. You’ll have time to create one or two prints in this class.
This workshop will be held in my cozy and well-equipped studio in Champaign.
All tools and materials will be provided.
Students age 14 and up are welcome.
