<p>How do social justice efforts benefit from community-based learning at PSU? What challenges and conflicts exist between these two curricular frameworks? How might PSU better integrate the two? Join Molly Gray and Harold McNaron in dialogue.</p><p><em>This event is remote and will take place on Zoom. <h3>Molly Gray, University Studies Instructor, Portland State University</h3><p>Molly Gray is faculty in University Studies, where she&#x27;s been offering Senior Capstones since 2005.  Her courses partner with local organizations such as the Sexual &amp; Gender Minority Youth Resource Center, Elder Pride Services, the Rock &amp; Roll Camp for Girls, and with trans oral history projects across the country.  She was a Faculty-in-Residence at OAI from 2018-2020, piloting the Faculty Fellows program in community-based learning.  In 2015 she founded Queer Rock Camp PDX, a no-cost intergenerational arts and music program for LGBTQ+ youth.  </p>

<h3>H﻿arold McNaron, Teaching Learning and Engagment Associate, Office of Academic Innovation, Portland State University</h3><p>Harold McNaron is committed to education as a tool for social justice. As Teaching, Learning and Engagement Associate, he supports faculty teaching community-based learning courses via one-on-one consultations, syllabi reviews, interactive workshops and more. An alum of PSU’s Graduate School of Education, Harold’s work is informed by the theory and practice he has gathered from his time in activist spaces, the nonprofit sector and student affairs. </p>
