-Smart-guided Selfie Cycle Bikeway Tour

Experience Niagara Falls by bike

Make it a one-day, a two-day overnight, a three-day extended, or more bikeway tour. Starting point - Buffalo, New York. Arrive by plane, train, or automobile. Or boat, bus, bike, or car rental. Buffalo has options!

This tour has several options, too, and they all come with your purchase:

  • A one-day tour - either 65 or 92 miles
  • A two-day overnight hotel-stay tour
  • A two-day overnight camping tour
  • A three-day or more extended hotel-stay tour
  • A three-day or more extended camping tour
  • An All-American Niagara Falls Tour
  • An American and Canadian Niagara Falls Tour

Tour de Niagara Falls Smart-guided Selfie Cycle Bikeway Tour has all the bells and whistles you have come to expect with a CycleNuts Selfie Tour:

  • easy to navigate
  • bikeway focused
  • expertly designed route
  • points of interest included along the way
  • very sensible options for both long and short distance riders

Tour de Niagara hits all the major attractions. The itinerary takes you by all the area favorites, giving you the option of stopping or rolling on by. The Canadian side of Niagara Falls is easily accessed by crossing over the Rainbow International Bridge. Remember to have your proper border credentials in order. Although the tour route does not include the Canadian side, the smart-guide will easily guide you back to the American side and the tour route.

The routes are about 83% bikeways - bike trails, bike lanes, and long stretches of the repurposed Niagara Scenic Parkway (segments closed to motor vehicle traffic). The distances of the tours vary between 65 and 111 miles depending on the number of days and the mode of lodging - camping or hotel stays. These two modes can easily be mingled and shortened, as well. For instance, one night camping, another night hotel stay, an extra day riding, etc.

All of the routes come with CycleNuts' 50% downhill guarantee and are a mix of asphalt bikeways, crushed stone bike trails, repurposed highways, bike lanes, sharrows, and roadways. The segments that are not bikeway are commonly cycled roadways when possible. If you are more comfortable using sidewalks in these areas, then you will find some of the roadway segments have sidewalks along the way. "While riding a bicycle on a sidewalk is not prohibited by New York statutes, some municipalities have passed ordinances prohibiting bicycle traffic on certain sidewalks. This prohibition is usually posted." source: https://www.dot.ny.gov/display/programs/bicycle/faq

The routes follow the lay-of-the-land along the Niagara River, which is relatively level. Sweating is optional, and possibly avoidable. The Niagara River shoreline, set between Lake Erie and Lake Huron, produces an often breezy condition mitigating the humidity level in this region.

This is a perfect weekend destination adventure! I f doing the tour as an overnight 2-day adventure, the overnight stay hotel suggestion in the route directions is CycleNuts approved based on zero-bedbug complaints. The cost of the overnight stays are not included in the tour ticket.

Easily, with the Smart-guide, you can wander away from the planned route to explore areas and points of interest that you find along the way. The Smart-guide will get you back on the route when you are ready. Speaking of wandering away to see things along the way, check out the following impressive points-of-interest list:

  • Niagara Falls
  • Maid of the Mist
  • Niagara River
  • Goat Island
  • Cave of the Winds
  • Luna Island
  • Niagara Falls Observation Tower
  • Three Sisters Islands
  • Niagara Wax Museum of History
  • Haunted House of Wax
  • American Rapids
