Touch Base with R&I projects: REPurpose
Recyclable Elastomeric Plastics safely and sUstainably designed and produced via enzymatic Recycling of Post-cOnsumer waSte strEams
REPurpose has developed and validated the production of a platform of Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design, additive-free thermoplastic elastomer prototypes for speciality applications from local post-consumer waste, with intrinsic biodegradability and recyclability, and has established a circular value chain in an enabling environment.New building blocks derived from biomass or enzymatically degraded polyolefins, PET, paper, and cardboard waste have been incorporated, giving the polymers unique characteristics of recyclability, environmental sustainability, and unlimited recyclability. The applications are related to consumer goods, automotive applications, and building and construction. The project is finalising its activities and the demonstrators are now available for a scaleup.
About this series
This is a series of online meetings connecting the European Bioplastics community with novel EU research and innovation (R&I) projects in the field of bioplastics. We bring together the representatives of projects that have just kicked off their activities with the EUBP members and partners.
Each 45-minute session:
- Offers you first-hand insights into novel R&I approaches in the bioplastics sector
- Offers you opportunities for collaboration
- Gives you the chance to meet potential partners for future R&I projects
AudienceIndustries and RTOs involved in research & development, applications, standardisation, and regulatory affairs.
Format:20-minute presentation + 20-minute Q&A
Time:Always from 12:00 to 12:45 pm
