About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

As part of Carnegie Hall’s Nuestros sonidos (Our Sounds) festival 2025, Toomai String Quintet presents a vibrant celebration of Cuban musical heritage. Building on the spirit of their 2018 album Cuerdas Cubanas, the ensemble offers original arrangements of works by celebrated Cuban composers including Tania León, Leo Brouwer, Gisela Hernández, and Ernesto Lecuona. The program also features Soñando despierto, a recent work by Yosvany Terry, commissioned by Toomai with the support of the Cuban Cultural Center of New York.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of rich rhythms, lyrical dreams, and bold reinterpretations.
