About this event

  • 2 hours

Join us at Garfield Lake Park as we kick off the third season of the Denver Parks Book Club Series, with one of the most talked about books of the past few years. Readers across the country took notice when Margaret Atwood declared Tommy Orange's There There "an astonishing literary debut." This Pulitzer Prize finalist tells the tale of twelve characters, each with their own reason for traveling to the Big Oakland Powwow. This is a novel that tells the story of urban Native American life like few others.

"There There is an urgent, invigorating, absolutely vital book by a novelist with more virtuosic talent than any young writer I've come across in a long, long time." -- Claire Vaye Watkins
