A hidden place for mycelia-like connectivity
The two Rotundas on the north and south side of the River Clyde in Glasgow are landmark, and listed, round buildings that allowed passage underneath the murky water. This was an important form of connectivity for communities either side of the Clyde which, in terms of trade and industry, is a historical backbone for Glasgow: the great Scottish city where Hedera Felix is based.
Today the tunnel systems that each Rotunda provided access to are filled in. Save for the pedestrian tunnel that remains hollowed-out but inaccessible to the public. Hedera Felix envisages a deep mycelia-like connectivity can thrive within this sort of hidden place. However, the only way that we can burrow down to find such connectivity at the moment is to get Virtual.
This event is the first of a series of Virtual happenings to launch Mycelia Issue 4, which was published in December 2020. Part Two is scheduled to happen on Friday 23 April 2021.
