Scottish Forum on Natural Capital

A practical workshop for organisations looking to apply the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework.

This workshop will help your organisation prepare for new nature-related financial disclosures, and be ready for changing environmental reporting requirements. The practical, in person session will allow you get to grips with the relevant nature-related risks and opportunities your organisation should act on, providing an opportunity to ask sector-specific questions and take a look at the recommended steps to begin setting <a href="https://sciencebasedtargetsnetwork.org/news/business/the-first-corporate-science-based-targets-for-nature-are-here/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Science-based Targets for Nature</a>.

We are partnering with experts from SLR Consulting, who work with organisations to help them understand their environmental impacts and how to use a natural capital approach to understand risks and identify opportunities to move towards a nature positive economy.W﻿e'll be joined by Ann Meoni, Senior Responsible Investment Analyst at abrdn who'll be sharing details of LEAP pilots linked to investments, and details of the <a href="https://www.abrdn.com/en-sg/investor/insights-and-research/measuring-biodiversity-and-alignment-to-tnfd-a-real-asset-perspective" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Far Ralia project</a> in the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. There'll also be an opportunity to ask technical questions about using the new framework.

About the FrameworkThe Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework is a market-led approach to impact reporting with input from science and data bodies. It provides an integrated framework that builds on existing standards, metrics and data and aligns with emissions reporting through the TCFD framework. The finalised disclosure recommendations version (v1) will officially launch during New York Climate Week on 18 September during Climate Week NYC and TNFD Global is <a href="https://www.eventbrite.ch/e/tnfd-recommendations-launch-webinar-tickets-685702914877?aff=oddtdtcreator" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">hosting a public webinar on 19th September</a>, providing guidance on the LEAP nature-related risk and opportunity assessment approach, sector and biome-specific metrics and value chains.Following our previous in-person tutorial in March focussing in on the 'L' (Locate) element of the TNFD Framework's LEAP process, we'll be exploring the 'E' (Evaluate) and 'A' (Assess) stages in this workshop.
