This one-day, online course teaches TMS Collections users about the functionality of TMS Media Studio.

Description

This 1-day course introduces new users to the basic functionality of TMS Media Studio, our web-based add-on product to TMS Collections. Learn how to search for records, link and manage Media records, streamline workflows using the Projects Module, and efficiently link batches of records with the new Media Importer.


Audience

The TMS Media Studio for TMS Collections Users course is appropriate for new adopters of TMS Media Studio who are already using TMS Collections, such as registrars, curators, educators, archivists, support staff, and anyone responsible for Media management. This can include:

  • New users (e.g., new staff members)
  • Existing users (who want to refresh their TMS Media Studio knowledge or learn about the new advancements from a recent upgrade)
  • Potential users (TMS Collections users who are considering getting TMS Media Studio)


Prerequisites

This course assumes that students have little or no familiarity with TMS Media Studio. Trainees should have experience searching, viewing, and basic data entry in TMS Collections.


Course Objectives

Learn the core functionality of TMS Media Studio and how it works in parallel with TMS Collections. Discover uses and features of the Projects module, and how to import batches of Media records using the Media Importer. Discover the Media Working List’s enhanced feature set, including allowing users to manage Media within Media Paths.

The online version of this workshop has been designed with a hands-on approach. For an optimal learning experience, we strongly recommend the following setup:

  • A strong internet connection
  • 1 monitor for viewing the training [a computer or a large tablet]
  • 1 computer monitor for working in your TMS database
  • A hands-free phone or a headset
  • Ability to use remote desktop (MAC users will need app from Mac App Store)
