Description: Titans Sports and Leadership Camp is led by four-time state champion and coach of the year, Sam Mickens. S&L Camp is a comprehensive, competitive co-ed sports camp designed to cultivate young athletes' athleticism while emphasizing leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-confidence. With age-appropriate groupings, campers will compete in a wide range of sports, including Basketball, Soccer, Flag football, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball and more! Additionally, our daily activities will include nutrition, fitness, and leadership sessions to help ensure a well-rounded experience for each camper. Join us to unlock your child's full athletic and leadership potential in a safe, supportive, competitive environment.


Grades: Rising 3-9

Date: Monday, July 22 -Friday, July 26 (9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)

Campers are required to bring their own lunch. Drinks and Snacks will be available for sale during the breaks.

About Sam Mickens:

Coach Mickens is a true leader with an exceptional track record of success in coaching at Trinity. In 2019, he was named Washington Football Team Coach of the Week and nominated for Washington Football Team Coach of the Year, showcasing his leadership skills and commitment to excellence. He was Prep League Coach of the Year in both 2022 and 2023, while guiding the Titans to consecutive conference titles. He has been named VISAA State Coach of the Year four times, leading the Titans to four VISAA state championships. Coach Mickens was head baseball coach from 2009-2013, earning the program's only conference title in 2009 and state runner-up honors in 2013. He brings over 30 seasons of coaching experience, dependability and proven leadership results to the camp.

About Shelly Mickens: Shelly Mickens has 20+ years of experience as a licensed athletic trainer working at the high school, college and clinic settings. She earned her bachelor’s of health sciences with a concentration in athletic training from James Madison University and master’s of science in exercise and health promotion from Middle Tennessee State University. Shelly is nationally certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and licensed by the Virginia State Board of Medicine. She is passionate about educating athletes about how their bodies are made and work so they can achieve the most out of performance training.
