The Organization of Asian Studies cordially invites you to Tips on Taiwan: A Study Abroad Information Session and Networking Event. Panelists from the Education Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) in the United States, the American Councils for International Education, and the Taiwan-America Student Conference will discuss scholarships, fellowships, and study abroad/exchange programs in Taiwan. Following the panel presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A discussion, as well as a networking session. The Organization of Asian Studies also welcomes alumni who have been to Taiwan on either a US or Taiwan government funded fellowship, such as Fulbright, Boren, CLS, NSLI-Y, FLAS, Freeman, Huayu, TUSA, Mosaic, etc., to participate in DC community networking. Scott Osdras is a Program Associate for Taiwan Programs at American Councils for International Education. After graduating from Michigan State University in 2012, he got his first taste of Taiwan as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant teaching 2nd and 6th graders in Kaohsiung City. One year on, Scott wasn’t quite ready to leave his scooter and favorite night market snacks behind—ultimately staying in Taiwan for a second year as a full-time student on a Huayu Enrichment Scholarship at Tunghai University in Taichung. Scott is thrilled to now be working full time to help more Americans live and study in such a special place.

Regan Lerner is a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park and is majoring in Chinese, Accounting, and Information Systems. As an undergraduate student, Regan has studied in Taiwan (under the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship) and in Germany during her semester breaks. Regan was an American Delegate in the Health and Society Roundtable for the 2nd Taiwan-America Student Conference (TASC) in 2015. Following that, she served as the American Financial Director for TASC in the 2016 conference. She currently assists TASC as a member of its Administration Board. Regan's interests include foreign languages, film, information systems, global sustainability, and international business.
