Tiny Table Talks: Is My Existence Political? Description:We live in a time when anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and rhetoric seem to grow louder with each passing day. What happens when this conversation doesn’t just exist in news headlines or political debates but enters our homes—sitting with us at the dinner table, between family and friends, or even in spaces that once felt safe? How do we navigate the elephant in the room, stampeding closer with every comment, every headline, every law passed? For LGBTQ+ individuals, politics has rarely been about party alone. It’s about strategy for survival, for dignity, and for equality. But can we truly “agree to disagree” when our very right to exist, to love, and to live authentically is up for debate? Is the act of existing openly as an LGBTQ+ person inherently political? Is visibility itself a form of protest? Tiny Table Talks is an intimate conversation series presented by Stonewall Columbus, designed to explore and celebrate the depth and diversity of the LGBTQ+ experience. Each discussion is a mosaic of perspectives, shedding light on the nuanced realities of queer life. This series is a tribute to the power of dialogue in fostering understanding, respect, and growth. Tiny Table Talks aims to create a reflective space where we can collectively deconstruct stigmas, challenge stereotypes, and build solidarity. It is a call to gather, learn, and grow as a community, recognizing that while the table may be small, the potential for impact is vast.
