Event Dates: 11am-2pm both Sat, July 9 and Sun, July 10...registration includes both dates.
This workshop was designed to help first-time builders plan their own tiny adventure in the most efficient, wise, and safe manner possible. After paying to attend many costly workshops, I found that most charge extremely high fees only to focus on materials that could easily be found online. After devoting a massive amount of time to navigating this unique building process, I found that there is an overwhelming lack of detailed instruction available to tiny house builders. During my own process of hybridizing "ground bound" and RV construction techniques to fit the needs of a tiny house, I realized that most of the sparse online instruction omits important information on creating a structurally sound home that will sustain highway travel and weather, all while omitting the codes necessary for legal travel and tiny house longevity.  In light of this, I have designed a workshop that will offer what no other workshop has been able to deliver thus far:
- Practical information on choosing/designing your own plans, all while adhering to highway codes
- Construction basics, which are often seen as "common knowledge" by seasoned contractors and thus omitted. This includes choosing the necessary tools/safety/structurally sound materials while adhering to mandated weight restrictions, among other issues
- Dispelling myths on the cost, function, and limitations of tiny house building/living
- "Learning from mistakes": My own costly mistakes discussed, and the best ways to achieve a much smoother build than my own
- General information on materials, the importance of insulation/vapor barriers, reinforcement of structural components, and resources on appliances that work with the unique amperage restrictions found in a tiny house.
 
This 6 hour course will cover the above and more, including personalized q&a time to address your unique interests/concerns on tiny house life. In addition to the course, all who are in attendance will also receive 30% off of my future endeavor: on-site tiny house consultation/building instruction.
 
This course is geared largely toward those with little to no building experience and builders who lack the budget to hire a crew/architect, but is open to all who are interested in building a safe, beautiful, tiny house that fits your own unique desires for small life.
